Move To Minnesota
Almost every winter people who live in
Minnesota enjoy at least one blizzard that blankets homes in white snowflakes.
While some people prefer living in the warm-weather climates, a growing number
of people are making the move to Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes.
Before making a move to Minnesota, think about whether you want to live in a
metropolitan area such as Minneapolis or in a Western Minnesota near bluffs,
streams, farms and rivers.
A bite of Apple Valley,
Minnesota
One of the areas to consider if you decide to move to Minnesota is called Apple
Valley. According to experts there are more sellers in buyers in Apple Valley,
which means it's a buyers' market. Since there is a good supply of inventory,
you can take your pick of homes, which average in price around $200,000. With
the entire construction flurry in Apple Valley, you should be able to find a
new home at a reasonable price if you decide to move to Minnesota. It's a good
place to buy a home if you are a first-time homebuyer.
Move to White Bear Lake Minnesota
Another area to check out if you want to move to Minnesota is White Bear Lake.
The closest cities to White Bear Lake are Minneapolis and St. Paul.
In this area, experts say there are more buyers than sellers, which means it's
more of a sellers' market. The average price of a home in White Bear Lake,
Minnesota is $250,000. It's the perfect community for a move-up buyer or
someone in search of a new job. If you plan to make a bid on a home, remember
most sellers are getting about 95 to 100 percent of their asking price so there
will not be much room for negotiation if you move to White Bear Lake.
Move to Maple Grove, Minnesota
Another hot residential area in Minnesota is Maple Grove where there are more
buyers than sellers. Experts say the average house stays on the market two or
three months in Maple Grove. The great thing about Maple Grove is you can find
homes in all price ranges. Homes start at as little as $200,000 and go up to
$700,000.
Move for rural or city lifestyles
Other options include Saint Cloud, a medium-sized city, which is in the middle
of the state. Saint Cloud is located 60 miles northwest of Minneapolis, the
largest city in Minnesota. You may enjoy Saint Cloud if you like living near
corn and soybean farms as well as dairy farms. You may want to move to Saint
Cloud if you want to live near a large state university since it's home to
Saint Cloud State University and two private colleges in close vicinity.
If you enjoy arts and entertainment, consider moving to the Twin Cities where
you'll find museums, orchestra and theaters. Also, the main campus of the
University of Minnesota is in the Twin Cities. One thing you won't find, when
you move to Minnesota, is sunny, warm whether throughout the year. But it's the
perfect place for ice fishing and watching the snow blanket the fields.
