Use Realtor To List Your Home
When it comes time to list your Minnesota home on MLS (multiple listing service), you will want to use the most flattered descriptions of your property without saying anything that is untrue. One of the secrets of selling your home fast is to help paint a mental picture for people of their dream home.
Before you begin to write a compelling description of your home, enlist the help of a Realtor. You will need to sign a contract with a Realtor before your property can be listed on the MLS. But tell your Realtor upfront that you want to have input or take the liberty of writing the description for your home. No one knows your property better than you do.
Use Verbs To List Your Minnesota Home
Most people think of adjectives as the best words to describe something. But when you write the MLS description of your Minnesota home, use verbs so the text will grab the reader. For example, you could write, "Cook in this incredible gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and maple wood cabinets."
You could also say, "Enjoy walking through a beautifully landscaped yard with mature evergreens and perennial flower beds."
Plant Ideas When You List Your Home
Finally, in addition to using verbs to make your text stand out when you list your Minnesota home on MLS, create a picture for people of how the house could function with their family in it. Think about all of the people competing on MLS for a prospective buyer's attention. List your home's strong points such as hardwood or ceramic floors, a fireplace, game room, swimming pool, sunroom or open layout. Then, plant ideas about how the new owner could use the home. For example, even if you don't have a plasma television, you could suggest in your MLS listing that the game room is spacious enough to accommodate one. When describing your game room or family room, you might say, "Relax with your family and watch favorite movies in a handsomely decorated game room with space for a pool table and plasma television."
By writing catchy MLS descriptions to list your Minnesota home, you may need your Realtor to help you sift through all the offers.
